Short Biography:
Dr. Mohammad Abul Bashar is a dedicated academic and public health professional, currently serving as Professor in the Department of Community Medicine & Public Health at Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College (GSVMC). He began his academic career at the institution in 2005 as a Lecturer. Before joining GSVMC, Dr. Bashar served in the BRAC Tuberculosis Control Program, where he gained valuable field experience in public health implementation.
Dr. Bashar completed his MBBS from Sher-E-Bangla Medical College in 2002. He later pursued postgraduate studies, completing a Master of Public Health (MPH) in 2008. Dr. Bashar also earned a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Preventive and Social Medicine from the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine (NIPSOM) in 2020.
Dr. Bashar plays a key role in the college’s unique community-based medical education program, helping to bridge academic knowledge with grassroots healthcare realities. In addition to his professional work in the department, he also spends time as a researcher. His research work has been published in national and international peer-reviewed journals. He has presented his findings at several prestigious conferences, both in Bangladesh and abroad.
